Thursday’s Game: Brewers 5, Reds 6
Record: 16-13, Third Place
Thursday’s Game
- Braden Looper struggled for the first real time in a Brewers uniform, giving up 5 runs and 8 hits, including 2 homeruns over just 3 1/3 frames. The offense fought back, including a pair of RBI by both Prince Fielder and Mike Cameron, and a RBI by Hardy. Milwaukee couldn’t escape the abbreviated roadtip undefeated, but return to Miller Park winners of 4 of the last 5 contests.
Brewers News
- Thursday’s loss came at the hands of a Reds team that’s battling the flu bug. A makeshift Cinncy team bested the Brewers. More HERE.

Dude. It’s a crime against humanity that Brad Nelson is still playing in Milwaukee.
Just bring Tony Gwynn Jr. back up and be happy. At least he could field. That would make three solid centerfielders! Okay, maybe that wouldn’t make sense. But Nelson should get shipped back down. Going 0-22 this season and 2-27 career is horrid.

Beyond the Gwynn suggestion, I’m beginning to agree. I want Nelson to succeed, but the window is closing more with each O-fer, and he’s the one closing it.
I’d still rather have Nelson up trying to work through his problems than Tony Gwynn Jr. – who most of us know, and don’t like, what we’re getting. 0 for the season is rough, but there’s really no better OF option in the minors that I’m screaming to get back in the show. That might just be me though.

A friend of mines dad was telling a story about how like 7 years ago he got to meet and talk with Bob Uecker. This was his favorite quote from the whole conversation You think your bad? I got booed at my tee ball games. Although I suppose that’ll happen when you get 3 backwards K’s.
Atleast TGJR can be put in late in ball games and pinch run…. thats doing more than Nelson is

HA! Sweet Nelson zinger.
And you do have a point about the pinch running too.
