Hardy Adjusts
Mike Rivera recently pointed out to J.J. Hardy that the shortstop’s stance opened up considerably since last season (Rivera obviously reads Right Field Bleachers), and Hardy has now adjusted.

As you can see, Hardy’s stance now looks nearly identical to his stance in 2008. He went 1-3 tonight with a single, a walk, a run and a sac fly in the ninth to tie the game. Hopefully the change can get Hardy going at the plate.

I’m still a little confused at how fans can notice this change weeks before anyone actually employed by the Brewers do.

Kristin,
That makes two of us… I just assumed that Hardy must have been trying to hit with the opened up stance.
I think what we’ve really learned here though is that the Brewers should hire me. Immediately. Make it happen, Mark.

That’s pretty impressive. Typically I write this type of occurrence off. But this one seems too damn coincidental. Hey Mike, if you’re reading this post…you look like a 2.0 version of Fez. Get that ankle better!

It’d be neat if Mikey does rehab starts in Appleton… :)

What makes this even stranger was Sveum had this to say about Counsell in spring training
“I believe more problems happen for guys when they don’t get their hands in the exact position they’re going to hit from, when it’s time to swing the bat. The more movement you have, the harder it is to get to that point. And we’re talking about milliseconds to minimize that effort to get into that exact launching zone.”

So WTF Sveum? Where were you on this one?
