Tailgate Tunes
In 2006, I experimented with some Brewers highlights from the past season, some cheesy sports-related music and an audio editing program and came up with a Brewer highlight mix. I skipped it in 2007 (frankly, the 2006 season kind of sucked anyway…), but I upped the ante in 2008 with some more “hip” music that the players used as at-bat songs or that were popular during the season. And now I did it again in 2009. I shared the 2005 highlight mix on BrewerFan.net at the time, but until now, the 2007 and 2008 highlight mixes were enjoyed solely by the Right Field Bleachers crew. And considering how much nerd time I put into them and how well they work for tailgating tunes, I decided that’s a shame. So, tonight I’m releasing all three to the world.
Click the play on the players below to listen to the songs and double-click “divShare” on the player to go to a page where you can download the mixes (click on “Download Original” once you’re on that page).

I’m self taught on the audio stuff, so they’re not perfect. But I think they turned out pretty good, all things considered, aside from a few hard-to-notice blips and the occasional volume inconsistency. And the 2008 highlight mix is the best yet in my opinion (it helped that I had some pretty good material to work with…). So, enjoy. And hopefully you have time to get it on your iPod or on a CD before you head out for Opening Day!
UPDATE: The links above have been shutdown for now because too many people have downloaded the mixes. You can download them here now: 2008 Mix, 2007 Mix and 2005 Mix.

I stood up in my cubicle and started waving my hands in the air-er when I heard the 2007 track. Nicely done.

Yeah, between the opening day excitement and other boomboxes blaring music, it was difficult to hear a lot of the mix yesterday. But I just listened to it again and this is the best one yet in my opinion. It awesome!
I know it’s a time-intensive process, but you’re getting it down to a science.
