Congrats Jenks!
Geoff Jenkins and the Philadelphia Phillies won the World Series tonight. Jenks hit a double and scored a run in the abbreviated Game 5.
Of course we would have loved to see Geoff win a ring with the Brewers, but it’s nice to see him collect the hardware in Philadelphia. He’s a classy guy that played on a lot of really bad teams in Milwaukee. We couldn’t be happier for him.

You beat me to it, Jared.
Way to go Geoff. The guy has seen a lot of losing in his career. I’m happy he came out a winner this season.
Hinske also made the last out. Kind of fitting.

One of my favorite brewers ever… Good for him.

Yeah. I was hoping that would be the winning run.
P.S. I think there’s about a 95% chance that Jenkins is a Brewer next year and a 65% chance that he gets in the Hall of Fame.

Joe, I’m pretty sure you’re being sarcastic – but if people didn’t know (or forgot) I just wanted to let people know Jenks is signed with Philly through 2009… with a mutual option for 2010.
I’d give the Brewers better odds of bringing in Jamie Moyer, which I actually really hope they do. He just finished a 2-year/$10.5 M deal… even at 46, that’s a bargain. Not flashy, but it makes sense if (and when) the Crew officially loses out on Sheets/Sabathia.

Updated prediction: I now give it a 50/50 shot at Jenkins being a Brewer next year. And yeah, obviously I’m poking fun of…

Ha, yeah. I gave myself 90% probability of believing you were joking. Jenks will make the HOF, first ballot unless Gary Glover is elgible the same year.
