Week 18 Record: 4-3
Total Record: 71-54
This Week’s Photo:
Things I Like:
- How well Dave Bush pitched
- The Amazing Outfield Defense. How many webgems can one game have?
- Gabe Kapler doing a great job filling in for Braun. I don’t think he gets enough cred. He hit .318 this week
- Cameron coming on strong! Final two month surge perhaps, like Jenks used to have?
- Craig Counsell hitting his 1000th hit. By the way, Craig was pretty darn good this week. He hit .263 and had an OBP of .464.
- The Brewers showing some fight and coming back from a 5-1 deficit
Things I Don’t:
- Infield Errors. Ouch.
- Villa having a rough week (13.50 ERA this week)
- I would have thought that Ray Durham would have hit better against NL West foes. He went 1-11 with a walk, a SB, and two RBI’s
Numbers of the Week:
2-0, 1.77 ERA, .178 OBA – Dave Bush’s post-pitching platoon stats
218 – Number of hits out of a thousand Craig Cousell has as a Brewer
33 Runs, .305 BA, 7 HR, 33 RBI’s, 33 K’s - Gabe Kapler’s stats with about half as many AB’s as Fukudome (203)
69 Runs, .267 BA, 8 HR, 45 RBI’s, 90 K’s - Kosuke Fukudome’s stats with more than double the amount of AB’s as Gabe Kapler. (422)
$800,000 – Kapler’s Salary according to CBS Sportsline
$7,000,000 – Fukudome’s Salary according to CBS Sportsline
