A Message For The Haters...

First, I apologize for being ornery... This post is brought on from JSOnline bloggers and sparked by the comment to Tyler's post below mine. (no offense buddy, just my take) This has been boiling my blood since the beginning of spring training. I have decided to let it go...until today.

I'll start by responding to the comment to Tyler's post. To save you time, "Anonymous" commented that our skipper, Ned Yost, isn't concerned that Dave Bush cannot throw more strikes than balls. I'm assuming Yost said something to that affect after the game last night. I promise you Ned is concerned. Did you see his expression during the game yesterday? People just have to realize, whether they like it or not, Ned is going to say only positive things. He's not going to call out a player's performance for the media, fans, or anyone to hear. Deal with it. This even annoys me from time to time, but that's just Ned. You have to respect that. Ned doesn't need to deal with his players in the public eye.

I'm just sick and tired of the Ned bashers. That's it! 9 out of 10 seem to know nothing about baseball, and none of them give him any credit for any positives he brings to the team. What about the fact that the Brewers probably have the tightest clubhouse in the majors? That has a huge, positive affect to the performance of the team. Does that have a lot to do with the fact that half of these guys came up together? Of course it does. But if you think that Yost has nothing to do with it, you're sorely mistaken. Ned is a player's manager. Do you think the clubhouse would be so tight if Yost echoed the thoughts of every fan? I really doubt it.

I would like to know if anyone actually has a legit complaint about Ned Yost's managing besides his bullpen management. (Yes, I do admit that is his major, and in my opinion, only issue with managing) Please, give me something other than, "why would he put Gagne in with a three run lead in the 9th?" or "why would he pinch hit Craig Counsell against a righty when Joe Dillon is available?" (I actually read those on the JSOnline Blogger)

In closing, I'm probably just sick of comments like the two I just posted. Everything is Yost's fault. Gagne blows a save...Yost's fault. Counsell has an error...Yost's fault. I'm sure when Kendall's average drips below .500 (as if!) it will also be Yost's fault. Please think before you post anti-Ned rants.

Hey...great call about the Ned bashers. Everything is his fault and is unwarranted! Ned has been one of the reasons these guys are where they are at and not just a bunch of young guys that might bring it together.

With all the blogging that takes place it would be nice for all of us Brewers fans to just enjoy the season...don't complain, critize, etc. It's a long, long season - let's enjoy it! It should be special and Ned is part of it.

...and remember that this is baseball. There will be streaks, both good and bad, by the Brewers. They play 162 games, so don't get so worked up over each game. (I have to tell myself that too) The Crew has about 70 more losses this year, if things go well.
