Capuano to the Red Sox?

Could Chris Capuano be traded to the Red Sox? Eli at MLB Rumors thinks so.

I'd be surprised if the Brewers don't make some sort of deal involving pitching before Opening Day and Capuano might need a change of scenery. Plus, he probably still has more value than Bush or Vargas despite major struggles after May last season and a poor spring training so far.

The Sox have been rumored to be looking for a pitcher, but the buzz is that they are shopping Coco Crisp. Crisp, a center fielder, does not fit with the Brewers.

What do you think Brewer fans, would a couple of prospects be enough for Cappy? Here are the Red Sox top prospects, according to

Rumors are flying that a Marquis/Fuld deal to Bean Town for Crisp will be a reality within the week. With Pie having surgery for a "twisted testicle" (seriously, a twisted testicle) and missing the next 7 games, the BOSOX have scouts out in Az to look at Fuld.

There's also still that rumor that will never end that sends Roberts and Payton (Payton shipped to Boston) to Cubs for prospects. The latest rumor from Starks yesterday, is that this deal will happen in the 3rd week of ST.

IF those rumored deals become reality, the Brewers are screwed and hope they can get the WC in the NL.

The Marquis/Fuld deal was shot down by the BoSox yesterday. I'm not really sure why the Cubs would have interest in Crisp anyways.

I'm sure the Roberts deal will eventually happen...but I guess I'm missing the part where this will make the Cubs 100 game winners?

Don't bet on Jay Payton going back to the Red Sox, not after the BS tantrum he pulled in front of Terry Francona and the entire team to get himself traded in 2005.

But I would love to see the Red Sox get Chris Capuano...

The Cubs interest in Crisp I imagine, would be to play CF against Lefties and his contract is similiar to Marquis'.

Roberts IMO would make the Cubbers 5 games better. He's a legitimate lead off hitter who can swipe 50 bags and with him and Fuku at the top of the order for guys like Lee, Ramirez, Soriano to drive them in, they would be reallllly tough to beat.

Maybe you're right and the Cubs will have the best record in the NL... I guess I (and most of baseball writers/TV/Media and the majority of Cubs fans) don't think they've improved enough on their 85 wins last year.

I guess that's why they play the games.
