In the News

- There's been a shake-up in the Huntsville Stars and Brevard County Manatee's front offices - The link directs you to the message boards where posters are updating the latest in the resignation of Huntsville GM Tom Van Schaack and the hiring of former Brevard County Manatee's GM Buck Rogers to replace him. Huntsville is Milwaukee's Class AA affiliate and Brevard County is a Class A affiliate.

- Brewers prospects hit ballpark - More than 40 of the organization's prospects (including Jeremy Jeffress, Mark Rogers and Angel Salome) are attending the Brewers' Winter Development Camp.

- Brewers end home opener package deal - Another ticket promotion that went well for the Brewers. I expect the team to shatter attendance records this year based on sales so far and a team that should be competitive for the entire season.

- Jayson Stark weighs in on the remaining free agents - There are a lot of names left out there, but not many "difference makers."

- The Brew Crew Pub blog thinks Sean Casey might have been a good signing for Milwaukee - Casey, 33, signed a one-year $800,000 deal with the Red Sox. He is a left-handed first baseman and will be a backup in Boston. He would have been a backup in Milwaukee too. The Brewers are light on lefties in the starting line-up, but they could have a lot of left-handed options on the bench already (Gross, Counsell, Munson and Tony Gwynn Jr.). I agree that $800,000 for Casey is a pretty nice deal, but I don't think he would have fit well in Milwaukee.
